I'm Erika Sargent aka The Author + Marketer.

​As a bookworm with a marketing career, I'm a firm believer that there's always room on the bookshelf for more great books.

That's why I created The Author + Marketer, to give authors like you the tips, tools, and techniques you need to successfully market your book.

My Story
I graduated from BYU with a BA in Communications (Advertising emphasis) and an English minor.
​
I put my degree to work for over 11 years in retail marketing and promotional writing as Director of Marketing and PR for Familius, Marketing and Communications Manager for Utah Valley University, and my current role as Founder of The Author + Marketer.
​
My three kids, two dogs, and one husband keep me busy, but when I do have free time you'll find me reading one of the many books not on my current TBR list.
Why The Author + Marketer?
With six years (and counting) working as a book marketing specialist at a small indie publishing house, I've learned that so many talented authors pour their time and hearts into their writing, only to be disappointed by low sales once it's published.

That's because there aren't many resources that teach authors how to market their books, and the resources that are available are basic and vague.
​​
Whether you're traditionally or independently publishing your books, you WILL need to learn how to market them (yes, even publishing houses have limited bandwidth and budgets when it comes to marketing every book they've ever released).
